Slow Wave

Dense grey-whiteness stagnated over the mountain top - at least to the quick glimpse of the passer-by. In fact, the opaque murk slowly lifted and skulked like a barely definable wave in slow-motion. Not slow as in film-slow but really slow, the type of slow that you'd need to be someone patiently sitting, waiting for a subtle change in texture or hue to catch any change at all.

It happened briefly but gradually: the haze moved, curdling it's murk to make tiny colour changes. The thick veil swirled to show a shy blue sky trying to been seen. A blink too many and the veil closes.
