Print: Unruly Ruffling

Find swathes of bright and beautiful plumage tumbling out of my windows, like children spilling into a school playground. This carefully coiffed street is debating how to respond to all this unruly ruffling, but decides it’ll reserve judgement for a while and the flowers continue their happy babbling.

Unruly Ruffling is part of my is part of my Enchanting Shop Fronts Collection. My eyes are always drawn to interesting buildings, shops and streets, and you'll see that I love painting the rambling blooms that add an architecture all of their own around them! They're created using collage as a base layer and then painting in acrylic using a palette knife. The combination of the collage and palette knife painting forms an imaginative extra-textured effect that draws your eye into all the nooks and crannies that the paint seems to have magically settled into.
