• Expectant Chaps is an original painting in collage and acrylic paint on stretched canvas (300gsm, 100% unbleached cotton canvas)
• Painting size: 50x50cm / 20"x20" (1.7cm/¾" depth)
• Framed size: 54x54cm/21.25"x21.25" (4cm/1.5" depth)
• Beautifully framed in a hand-painted white wooden tray frame, fitted with D-rings and string so that you can hang your painting immediately
• Expectant Chaps is signed by the artist on the back of the canvas, and will arrive with a certificate of authenticity

The Boats Collection

Expectant Chaps is part of my Boats Collection which I started whilst painting in Shetland. There are lots of marinas and harbours in nooks around the islands full of colourful boats which look beautiful in the sunlight.

They're created using collage as a base layer and then painting in acrylic using a palette knife. The combination of the collage and palette knife painting forms an imaginative textured effect that draws your eye into all the nooks and crannies that the paint seems to have magically settled into.

Colourful and character-filled, Expectant Chaps brings the atmosphere of these moored boats in a working island harbour to your home.
