Regardless of the paintings I produce on a day-to-day basis, life drawing probably underpins the essence of my whole art practice. The energy that transmits from model to artist to the paper is such a privilege to be part of and it’s a connection that moves my soul. Just moving the great hunks of pastel or wisps of charcoal across the paper is an experience that invites my unconscious to connect. The result is usually a surprise as I discover that the energy of each session has generated added a new style or edge to my technique.
