I didn't know that this was where I was until afterwards, I'd just found a place that I found interesting sculpturally. The road is cut out of the rock and I rather liked the look of it's lumps and bumps. It was created when I spent a wintry month on Shetland for an artist residency based in Scalloway. I took the \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003er\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003eough-textured handmade paper\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e with me on a last-minute whim and found that it seemed to embody the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ewintry hues\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e of the hunks of charcoal I was \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eworking into the weave\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.
