This week has seen the turning of months, and hey presto we're into the second half of the year! How did that happen?
So, up until the end of the month I've been working to design and release the remaining Flouncily Flamboyant-themed products in my ArtOnEverythingShop over on Etsy. I'm delighted to say that you have a full range to choose from! Here they all are (just click on each one for more details):

Phew! I love all the products in this design so much, and I look forward to bringing you more in the style of July's painting of the month 'Wild Abandon':
You can find your free screen wallpapers voucher code in Wednesday's blog post - just click here for that. I love having new wallpapers on my screens each month, and I hope you'll join me in uploading them to your screens too. They're free for you, just see the blog post for all the details.
This week also saw me attending a life drawing session. We had the delightful Magda as our model, and it's the first time I've had the honour of drawing her. She extended or minimised the pose times as she felt comfortable, so it was a great exercise in artistic flexibility.
As usual, in the spirit of showing all my drawings, warts and all, here they are, starting with my first three 3 minute 'blind' drawings (where I only look at the model and not at the paper at all):

Magda decided to stay in the last pose a little longer, so I started a new drawing for that portion:

Then we progressed to a 5-10 minute pose:

Followed by a 10-15 minute pose:

And then a 15 minute pose:

This was the final 20 minute pose:

I rarely list my life drawings for sale immediately after drawing, but if any have caught your eye, do not hesitate to get in touch via my contact form.
So, amongst more admin tasks and website tweaks (I've extended the free shipping on orders over £64 until the end of the world cup on the 19th July), I'll be trying to fit in more painting over the coming week. I'll show you what I've been up to in next weeks Studio News.
Thank you for joining me on my journey of all things art x
P.S. I'm often asked about the art materials I use in my practice. These are the materials I used for this week's life drawing session:
Surfaces:
- Derwent Sketch and Store A4 spiral-bound pad - I've had mine for years, but they are widely available, including some I recently found on eBay.
- I also used some off-cuts of thick creamy paper which I discovered whilst having a forage in my paper stock recently. I have no idea where it's from, but thick smooth drawing paper is pretty widely available.
Materials:
- Coates charcoal - click here for the link to Jacksons Art
I'm an affiliate of Jacksons Art, which means I earn a small amount every time a purchase is made using one of the above links at no additional cost to yourself. Thank you in advance for supporting me this way.
